April of 2014 is among us and with it comes the new Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire! Being described as Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey with the heat and spice of red hot cinnamon liqueur, Jack Daniel’s is betting that this will become the next big whiskey in their product line. Bottled at 70 proof and in available sizes of 50ml, 750ml, 1 liter, and 1.75 liter, the initial release of this whiskey is being called a Test Launch. BottlesĀ  started hitting store shelves a few weeks ago but only in the states of Tennessee, Oregon, and Pennsylvania. There has been no word as to if or when this new whiskey will become available in additional states so for now we’ll just have to wait and see what Jack Daniel’s next move is.

2013 is about to come to a close and Jack Daniel’s just finished off another busy year here in the U.S! They started things off big with the release of the Sinatra Select bottle and continued from there. We also saw a new version of the White Rabbit Saloon 120th Anniversary bottle (it now reads Special Edition), a new version of the Gentleman Jack Commemorative bottle (it no longer says 2010), the 2nd bottle in the Master Distiller Series, a larger scale release of the Winter Jack Tennessee Cider, and annual releases of the Ducks Unlimited and Holiday Select bottles. I’m sure 2014 will continue with much of the same so keep checking back for more updates!

Here’s a picture of the 2013 Barrel Tree in case you missed it.

Once again it’s that time of year for the annual release of the Ducks Unlimited bottle. Each year since 2006, this bottle is released in select states around the country with a portion of the proceeds going to the Ducks Unlimited organization. As usual, only the bottles sold at the Distillery come with the collectible leg band (shown in the picture below, courtesy of Billy Mathison). This bottle is available now around the country and of course you can also find it at the Distillery’s White Rabbit Bottle Shop.

Throughout the month of January the Sinatra Select bottle began showing up in certain Duty Free stores around the country. Now, on March 8, 2013, it makes its debut in Lynchburg, Tennessee. The Distillery is officially offering these bottles for sale from the White Rabbit Bottle Shop for an out-the-door price of $164.20. Unlike the past several bottles, this one is quite unique in shape. It is 1 liter in size but much taller and skinnier than the regular 1 liter bottles we’re used to. It’s also heavier and uses much thicker glass around the base of the bottle. Filled with 90 proof whiskey, this bottle comes in a specially designed gift box which includes a small booklet with the story of Frank Sinatra’s relationship with Jack Daniel’s.

This bottle will be a limited edition as the next release is expected to be Aged Rye and is currently maturing in the barrel-houses.

On December 1st, the Jack Daniel Distillery officially released the Holiday Select bottle for 2012. This tradition was started last year so the 2012 bottle marks the 2nd in the Holiday Select Series with every bottle once again being filled from the barrels used to make the Christmas Barrel Tree. The 2012 Holiday Select bottle comes with 90.4 proof whiskey, a numbered hang tag, and is packaged in a very beautiful display box. In addition to being sold at the Distillery, certain states around the country are lucky enough to have this bottle available in select liquor stores. These bottles are very limited in quantity and will not be available for long.

The annual release of the Ducks Unlimited bottle recently took place in Lynchburg, TN. Dating back to 2006, each year the Distillery teams up with the Ducks Unlimited organization to release a bottle from this commemorative series and then donates a portion of sales to the conservation effort. While this bottle is currently available at the Distillery, it can also be found in select states around the country. If you happen to find one at your local liquor store it will most likely come in special packaging or a commemorative tin. If you’re lucky enough to grab one at the Distillery you’ll see that your bottle comes with a special leg band. Only the bottles sold at the Distillery come with this leg band and for that reason it has become quite collectible. A picture of the bottle sold at the Distillery with the leg band can be seen below.

The first bottle in the new Master Distiller Series was just released and is now available at the Distillery and around the state of Tennessee. This is an 86 proof 1 liter bottle and features Jack Daniel, the 1st of the 7 Master Distillers in the history of the Jack Daniel Distillery. Each bottle is individually numbered on the back label and comes with a box which, when put side by side with another box, completes a nice image as seen below. This bottle will be highly collectible as it is the first in a brand new series!
